HIAL is looking for a Renewable Energy executive with around 3 years of experience. The candidate s primary role would be to identify, design and execute new, sustainable and region-appropriate power generation / transmission / distribution projects to assist in developing ladakh as a model of a carbon-neutral mountain community.
One of the key responsibilities would be to execute HIAL s flagship Greenhouse Agrivoltaics system and then mainstream it. An ideal candidate would be a person who loves to work on ground and is ready to make their hands dirty, keeps innovating, gains energy by sharing their knowledge.
Job Responsibilities:
At HIAL you are expected to:
- Identify, design and execute region appropriate, power generation and storage technologies.
- Design, execute and Monitor Greenhouse Agrivoltaics at HIAL.
- Design and monitor HIAL s pumped hydro storage to phase out lead acid batteries.
- Ensure proper operation and maintenance of the existing technologies and lead in setting up of new systems to meet the campus energy needs in the future.
- Work in collaboration with the academics team to develop the existing facilities in the campus to facilitate experiential learning (live-labs) of the fellows/students.
- Identify, conduct and execute high quality energy research and implementation projects.
- Be able to undertake relevant energy system data collection and analysis.
- Write high quality scientific reports and publish in peer-reviewed journals.
- Assist in identifying relevant funding agencies for the projects.
- Maintain admin and finance related sheets for smooth operation of the department.
- Perform other duties, as needed.
Preferred Background:
- Bachelor s Degree in Energy, Electrical, Mechanical or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 3-5 years of experience in designing/executing/OM of renewable power generation / transmission / distribution system, preferably in Himalayan mountain regions.
- Keen interest in the Transdisciplinary approach to solving energy problems.
- Preferably have some knowledge/experience in energy system data collection and analysis.
- Working knowledge of MS Office, particularly good excel skills.
Note: Special preference for experience in Ladakh or other mountain regions.
