About the Role

The Relationship Manager Micro Enterprise Loan is responsible for building and strengthening customer relationships within the Rural Banking segment, with a focus on micro enterprise lending. This role involves identifying business owners and entrepreneurs in the assigned catchment area, assessing their financial needs, and offering tailored loan solutions. The Relationship Manager drives client acquisition, fosters household-level engagement, and maximizes the lifetime value of each relationship. Additionally, the role includes managing a team of field officers and contributing to community development initiatives, while ensuring high service standards and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities

  • Ensure timely disbursal of business loans based on thorough assessment of client needs.
  • Conduct post-disbursal end-user checks and meet monthly and annual group loan booking targets.
  • Evaluate client requirements and generate new revenue through cross-selling, aligned with customer lifestyle, risk profile, and financial goals.
  • Drive penetration of products in rural markets through lead generation and account opening.
  • Achieve individual and branch-level sales targets through new business acquisition, referrals, and customer retention.
  • Maintain high collection efficiency through disciplined follow-ups and monitoring.
  • Conduct field audits and customer verifications to ensure account quality.
  • Collect and analyse market intelligence, benchmarking against competitor practices.
  • Evaluate growth strategies based on competitor analysis and customer feedback.
  • Recommend process improvements to enhance service delivery and operational efficiency.
  • Lead and support livelihood advancement and community development initiatives.

Secondary Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop a team of field officers, ensuring performance and minimizing attrition.
  • Attract and retain top talent for key roles within the reporting structure.
  • Monitor employee productivity, hiring quality, and attrition rates; implement improvements as needed.
  • Provide strategic support to enable teams to achieve growth targets.

What We Are Looking For

Education

  • Graduate degree in any discipline (e.g., BA, BCom, BBA, BSc, BTech, BE).

Experience

  • 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in rural banking or financial services.

Skills and Attributes

  • Strong understanding of rural markets and micro enterprise lending.
  • Proven ability to assess financial needs and deliver tailored solutions.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Target-driven with a focus on customer acquisition and relationship management.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to compliance and documentation standards.
  • Ability to manage and motivate field teams effectively.
