About the Role

The Regional Sales Manager will be responsible for driving project sales of engineered capital equipment solutions in the assigned region. This role requires a strong engineering background combined with proven sales expertise, as it involves engaging with Auto OEMs, Tier-1/Tier-2 suppliers, and large manufacturing plants involving metal cutting. The position demands managing long-cycle, high-value projects, developing strong relationships with consultants and project managers, and ensuring successful order closures.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute regional sales strategies for project-based business in metalworking, machining, and automotive industries.
  • Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities with OEMs, Tier-1/Tier-2 suppliers, and large-scale manufacturing units.
  • Conduct techno-commercial discussions with consultants, plant heads, and project managers to position engineered solutions.
  • Manage the complete project sales cycle: lead generation, technical proposal preparation, presentations, negotiations, and order finalization.
  • Collaborate with engineering and design teams to customize solutions tailored to customer requirements.
  • Track ongoing and upcoming projects in the region, ensuring timely follow-ups and pipeline conversion.
  • Monitor competitor activity, emerging technologies, and market trends to strengthen competitive positioning.
  • Coordinate with execution and service teams to ensure customer satisfaction and build long-term relationships.
  • Drive timely payment collections and adherence to credit policies.
  • Provide regular MIS reports, forecasts, and insights to senior management.

Qualifications

  • Education: Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical / Industrial Engineering (mandatory). MBA in Sales/Marketing is an advantage.

Required Skills

  • Experience: 712 years of Project Sales in Capital Equipment / Industrial Systems, preferably in machine tool, metal cutting fluids and material handling.
  • Strong technical understanding of engineered systems with the ability to present and position solutions effectively to technical and commercial stakeholders.
  • Proven track record of handling long-cycle project sales and closing high-value deals.
  • Excellent techno-commercial negotiation, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Strong customer network within automotive, machining, and heavy industrial manufacturing sectors.
  • Willingness to travel extensively across the region.
