Job Description: Regional Manager - Business Development
Position Summary
The Regional Manager -Business Development will be responsible for leading, motivating, and managing a team of Business Development Executives (BDEs). This role requires a strong leader with a proven track record in sales and business development, excellent coaching skills, and the ability to drive team performance to exceed targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership & Management:
- Recruit, train, and onboard new Business Development Executives.
- Provide ongoing coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback to the team.
- Conduct regular one-on-one meetings and team meetings to review progress, address challenges, and foster a collaborative environment.
- Ensures that the team objectives are consistently met with highest compliance & ethical standards.
- Set clear performance goals and objectives for each team member and the team as a whole.
- Monitor individual and team performance against targets, and implement corrective actions when necessary.
- Strategy & Planning:
- Develop and implement strategies to achieve and exceed business development targets.
- Collaborate with senior management to refine sales processes and improve efficiency.
- Identify new market opportunities and develop plans to penetrate them.
- Analyze sales data and market trends to make informed decisions and adjustments to strategies.
- Sales & Business Development:
- Support BDEs in their sales efforts, including client presentations, negotiations, and closing deals.
- Act as an escalation point for complex client issues or opportunities.
- Maintain a deep understanding of our products/services and the competitive landscape.
- Potentially manage a small portfolio of key accounts or strategic partnerships.
- Reporting & Communication:
- Prepare and present regular reports on team performance, pipeline, and forecasts to senior management.
- Ensure accurate and timely data entry into the CRM system by the team.
- Foster effective communication within the team and with other departments.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8+ years of experience in business development or sales, with at least 3+ years in a leadership or managerial role within the education industry.
- Proven track record of consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Strong understanding of sales methodologies and CRM software (e.g., Salesforce).
- Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Ability to motivate and inspire a team.
- Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Willingness to travel extensively
- Knowledge of the territory / geography is a plus
