- Daily duties typically involve a mix of operational support (L2/L3) and strategic project work:
- Platform Management Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) clusters in on-premises, hybrid, or multi-cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Automation & CI/CDAutomate routine tasks and application deployment using CI/CD pipelines and tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Tekton, and Ansible.
- Monitoring & Troubleshooting Monitor cluster performance and health using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and the ELK (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana) stack, proactively identifying and resolving complex issues.
- Security & Compliance Implement security best practices, manage Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), and ensure compliance with internal and external standards for containerized workloads.
- Collaboration Work closely with development and operations teams to containerize applications, onboard new services, and provide technical support and guidance on best practices.
- Documentation Create and maintain detailed documentation (SOPs, architecture diagrams, runbooks) for OpenShift environments and processes to ensure continuity and compliance.
