RADIUS / Diameter Protocol Developer

Job Overview

We are looking for a skilled RADIUS / Diameter Protocol Developer to design, develop, and

maintain authentication, authorization, and accounting (AAA) solutions based on RADIUS and

Diameter protocols. The candidate will work closely with network, telecom, and backend teams

to implement scalable and high-performance solutions for authentication and policy control

systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain systems using RADIUS and Diameter protocols.

• Implement AAA (Authentication, Authorization, Accounting) solutions for telecom or

networking environments.

• Develop and maintain Diameter applications (Gy, Gx, Rx, Ro, etc.) where applicable.

• Integrate RADIUS/Diameter with network elements, policy servers, and

authentication systems.

• Troubleshoot and debug protocol-level issues using packet analysis tools.

• Participate in protocol design, implementation, and optimization.

• Develop high-performance backend services in Java.

• Work with telecom standards defined by 3GPP / IETF.

• Write unit tests and perform protocol conformance testing.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including network engineers, DevOps, and

QA.

Required Skills

• Strong understanding of RADIUS protocol (RFC 2865, RFC 2866).

• Good knowledge of Diameter protocol architecture and message flow.

• Experience with AAA systems and authentication frameworks.

• Programming experience in Java.

• Experience with Linux/Unix environments.

• Understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, UDP, SCTP).

• Experience analyzing packets using Wireshark or tcpdump.

• Familiarity with 3GPP standards related to Diameter (preferred).

Preferred / Good to Have

• Experience with telecom systems (4G/5G core networks).

• Knowledge of PCRF / OCS / HSS integration.

• Experience with FreeRADIUS or custom RADIUS implementations.

• Exposure to microservices architecture.

• Experience with Docker.

Education

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology,

Electronics, or related field.

• Good communication and documentation skills.

• Ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
