Key Responsibilities
- Image Interpretation
- Analyze imaging studies (X-ray, CT, MRI, ultrasound, PET)
- Provide accurate and timely diagnostic reports
- Detect abnormalities such as tumors, fractures, infections
- Clinical Collaboration
- Work closely with physicians, surgeons, and specialists
- Advise on appropriate imaging tests
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings (tumor boards, case discussions)
- Interventional Procedures (if trained)
- Perform minimally invasive procedures (biopsies, drainages)
- Use imaging guidance for precision treatments
- Patient Care Safety
- Ensure proper use of radiation and imaging protocols
- Explain procedures and risks to patients (in some settings)
- Monitor contrast reactions and complications
- Leadership Supervision
- Supervise junior doctors, residents, and radiographers
- Maintain quality control in imaging services
- Contribute to department management
- Documentation Reporting
- Maintain accurate medical records
- Ensure compliance with hospital and legal standards
- Teaching Research
- Train medical students and residents
- Participate in clinical research and publications
- Stay updated with new imaging technologies
