ABOUT
Agnikul Cosmos is a company incubated at IIT Madras and we build rockets that can take satellites up to 500 kg to Lower Earth Orbit (LEO). In May 2024, we successfully completed our maiden launch from our own launchpad (India's first private launchpad). The launch has proven all the new technologies developed by Agnikul and also earned recognition from Honourable Prime Minister of India
We are looking for an AERB Level II certified Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) to oversee radiation safety and regulatory compliance for our industrial CT scanning facility equipped with a 450 kV X-ray CT system.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Serve as the designated Radiation Safety Officer for the facility
- Ensure compliance with Atomic Energy Regulatory Board (AERB) regulations and safety guidelines
- Oversee safe operation of the industrial CT / high-energy X-ray system (450 kV)
- Conduct radiation surveys, area monitoring, and exposure assessments
- Maintain radiation safety records, reports, and regulatory documentation
- Coordinate AERB approvals, licensing, and regulatory inspections
- Ensure proper functioning of radiation shielding, interlocks, and monitoring systems
- Implement and monitor radiation protection programs
- Train operators and staff on radiation safety procedures and emergency protocols
- Investigate and report radiation incidents or safety deviations
Requirements
AERB Level II Radiation Safety Officer certification
Minimum 2 years of experience working as an RSO after AERB qualification
Experience handling industrial X-ray / radiography / CT systems
Strong knowledge of AERB regulatory compliance and safety procedures
Experience with radiation monitoring instruments and surveys
Preferred Experience
Experience with high-energy X-ray systems (300450 kV range)
Prior experience in industrial CT scanning facilities
Background in NDT / testing laboratories / radiography operations
