R&D Senior Engineer - Firmware developer

Your role and responsibilities:

We are looking for a firmware developer at ABB Global Industries and Services Private Limited (GISPL). This is a company which has 4 business areas to support ABB R&D projects globally. We are located in Bangalore, India and we have 2000 employees as a part of this company serving in the areas of Research, Development, Engineering center and Regional ERP support center which contributes to ABB's 4 business areas globally. In 2015 the company name was registered as ABB Global Industries and Services Private Limited (GISPL). This position is opened in the Motion Drive Products (MODP) Division, which is a global technology leader in variable frequency drives. We keep the world turning, while saving energy every day. Our drives help our customers to achieve energy efficiency, sustainability and achieve profitable growth. You would be reporting to the Division R&D Manager located in Bangalore. You will be working with the teams which are developing and validating shippable products for the India and global markets. You will also be a part of global R&D community spread across the ABB MODP division.

This role is contributing to the Motion Drive Product Division in Bangalore.

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Firmware development of variable frequency drives at various layers of its architecture.

• Collaborate with global/ local R&D and product management teams to develop world class products.

• Demonstrate solid competency in embedded C++/C programming and design concepts.

Qualifications for the role :

• Bachelor's / master's degree in electronics, electrical engineering, or related field with 8 to 12 years of experience in embedded SW programming for 16/32/64 bit Microcontroller.

• Strong knowledge about the micro controller architecture of the projects you have worked on.

• Ability to design and develop embedded software modules for assigned projects, ensuring high-quality, efficient, and maintainable code

• Must have strong experience in Embedded C , Embedded C++, python in embedded system design and development and Communication protocols such us I2C, SPI, UART/USART.

• Hands on experience with debugging tools such as IAR and equivalent.

• Experience in MCU's peripherals like ADC, DAC, DMA, Timers, Flash, GPIO

• Experience about CI/CD processes, Jenkins or equivalent tool.

• Experience with drives, PLC and industry automation background will be added advantage. Knowhow of the Scrum based agile software development
