R&D Senior engineer-Embedded firmware

Your role and responsibilities:

In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to ABB's success with technology, software, product, and system development. This role is contributing to the Electrification Business Smart Power Division in Hyderabad,India.

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Highly motivated self -driven engineers to work in electronics firmware development related to electrical distribution and control products

• Sound knowledge and hands-on experience in Embedded firmware development. Must have developed multiple products from concept through production (has been through 3 or more big project cycle)

• Should be good at generating requirement specification and detailed design of microcontroller-based products. Should be very good at structured coding & arriving at system architecture

• Develop and implement firmware test plans to ensure design quality and completeness to specifications

• Knowledge on product cybersecurity, IEC62443-2

• Ability to produce detailed functional design specifications and associated documentation from internal and external documentation sources.

• Desired - Knowledge of Electrical Protection equipment and protection standards like IEC, ANSI, UL.

Qualifications for the role:

• B. Tech/M. S/ M. Tech or equivalent in ECE/EEE from reputed institutes with 8+ years of hands-on experience developing firmware related to Electrical protection products - ATS, Trip units, Controls Electronics & smart Energy meters

• Proven ability to communicate effectively across a global team working on multiple projects, take ownership and drive results.

• Should have 8+ years of experience in Firmware development and should be very strong in C and Assembly Language programming.

• Hands-on Firmware development experience on16/32-bit microcontrollers and development tools like Emulator, Simulator, and Debuggers etc.

• Hands on experience on Serial communication protocols ( RS232, RS485 etc.) / Field-bus architectures (Profibus, Modbus, CANbus etc.).

• Hands-on Electronic Trip unit & power metering experience is a plus
