R&D Principal Technologist, Product Development

Position: R&D Principal Technologist, Product Development

Location: Bangalore, India

Employment type: Full-time regular with flexible working options

The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Developer for AVEVA's Core Services team. This position is to design and develop innovative industrial software solutions. You'll work on challenging problems in data management and cloud-based systems that help our customers in industrial automation and engineering. All our cloud products are hosted in Kubernetes, and everything we build—whether cloud or on-premises—is designed for containerized applications.

We're looking for developers who are curious, collaborative, and eager to grow. Whether you're more experienced or earlier in your career, if you're passionate about solving complex problems and working with modern technologies, we'd love to hear from you. There's also the opportunity to work as a full stack developer if that's where your interests lie.

What You'll Do

  • Design, develop, test, deploy and maintain scalable, secure, and high-availability systems using .NET Core and Azure
  • Microservices, Message-Driven Design, Cloud-Native Integration
  • Design Patterns, Clean Architecture, Identity Management, Granular Access Control, etc.
  • Collaborate with product owners, architects, and teams across our global organization
  • Participate in code reviews and help maintain high quality standards
  • Work in an agile environment with continuous integration and deployment
  • Contribute to both new features and maintaining existing codebases
  • Grow your technical skills and share knowledge with the team

What We're Looking For

Essential Requirements:

  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience)
  • 12+ years of experience developing software in C#/.NET
  • Experience with Visual Studio/VS Code and modern development practices
  • Ability to write clean, well-structured code
  • Good communication skills and enjoy working collaboratively

Desired Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong experience in RESTful APIs, Microservices and event-driven design
  • Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud)
  • Strong understanding of single-sign-on or token-based authentication
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps and IaC
  • Experience with Observability/monitoring tools
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure as Kubernetes. Experienced with Docker containers
  • Experience with high availability, scalability, security and performance of cloud-based systems by monitoring logs and troubleshooting issues.
  • Experience working in Agile/SCRUM environments.

Nice To have:

  • Experience with TypeScript and UI development.
  • Familiarity with communication protocols and technologies such as MQTT, OPC-UA, Modbus, Kafka, WebSocket's or RabbitMQ
  • Interest in engineering or industrial automation

Hybrid working
