Job Description

Help clients on a monthly basis to reconcile bank accounts in QuickBooks Online (QBO)

a. Every two weeks verify all accounts are online and synchronizing data with QBO

b. Monthly verify that payroll is being recorded from QBO payroll or outside payroll providers like ADP (should be an import done by clients)

  • Set up and adjust QuickBooks rules to automatically map bank and credit card transactions to General Ledger accounts
  • Prepare and update amounts for monthly recurring journal entries
  • Record expense reports
  • Record adjusting journal entries when appropriate
  • Prepare list of open items and questions

Bookkeeping Cleanup Clients

  • Inventory bank statements to verify that we have PDF copies of bank statements for each month associated with the period we are working on
  • Convert files using Money Thumb software
  • Verify that all transactions were converted properly into an excel spreadsheet by totaling the spreadsheet by month and comparing to the bank statement for deposits and withdrawals
  • Beginning coding/mapping the transaction into the appropriate accounting category
  • Prepare a spreadsheet of open items that you are not able to code/map because of inadequate bank descriptions for the transactions that we will provide to the client to get the business purpose for proper coding
  • Prepare a spreadsheet of all check activity that we will provide to the client to get the business purpose for proper coding
  • Update spreadsheet with client responses
  • Copy the transactions that have been coded into our Profit and Loss template spreadsheet that has formulas that will look up the coding/mappings to summarize the information into a financial report

Requirements:

  • B Com, M Com, MBA Finance, CA-inter, CA or any equivalent degree
  • Minimum 3 years experience in handling bookkeeping and accounting
  • Good English written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in QuickBooks is an added advantage
  • Knowledge of accounting fundamentals
