Quest Migration Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Quest Migration Engineer to lead and execute complex directory and messaging migration projects. This role demands deep expertise in Quest Software's migration tools and a strong focus on ensuring seamless transitions with minimal disruption to business operations.

As a technical specialist, you will play a critical role in migrating Active Directory, Exchange, and Office 365 environments while maintaining data integrity, security, and user productivity.

Migration Planning & Architecture

• Design and document end-to-end migration strategies for Active Directory, Exchange, and Microsoft 365 environments.
• Ensure smooth transitions with minimal downtime and impact on end users.

Quest Tool Management

• Install, configure, and maintain Quest Migration Manager tools, including:
• Migration Manager for Active Directory
• Migration Manager for Exchange
• Change Auditor

Directory Synchronization

• Configure and manage directory synchronization processes.
• Ensure consistency of users, groups, and contacts between source and target environments during coexistence.

Mailbox & Data Migration

• Perform migration of mailboxes, public folders, and calendar data.
• Monitor migration processes and resolve issues such as failed or stalled jobs.

Post-Migration Activities

• Execute cleanup of legacy environments.
• Validate and maintain permissions, including SID History and attribute mapping.

Advanced Troubleshooting

• Act as a Tier 3 escalation point for complex migration issues.
• Conduct root cause analysis using logs and diagnostic tools to resolve technical challenges.

• Strong hands-on experience with Quest Migration Manager (QMM) tools
• Expertise in Active Directory, Exchange, and Microsoft 365 migrations
• Solid understanding of directory synchronization and coexistence strategies
• Experience in troubleshooting complex migration and connectivity issues
• Knowledge of permissions, SID History, and AD object attributes
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills

• Experience in large-scale enterprise migration projects
• Familiarity with hybrid environments (on-premises + cloud)
• Relevant Microsoft or Quest certifications

• Work on high-impact enterprise migration projects
