Quantity Surveyor Assistant Manager

About the Role

We are looking for a detail-oriented and commercially focused Quantity Surveyor – Assistant Manager to support our commercial fit-out and interior construction projects.

The role will be responsible for cost planning, quantity estimation, BOQ preparation, tendering, procurement support, cost monitoring and final account management. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in commercial fit-out projects and be comfortable coordinating with project teams, subcontractors, vendors and clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and manage Bills of Quantities (BOQs), cost estimates and tender documents for commercial fit-out projects.
• Conduct site measurements, quantity take-offs and verification at different stages of the project.
• Perform rate analysis and assess material, labour and subcontractor costs.
• Review and evaluate subcontractor and vendor quotations and support procurement decisions.
• Assist with subcontractor negotiations, commercial evaluations and vendor management.
• Monitor project expenditure against approved budgets and identify potential cost overruns and variances.
• Maintain accurate records of project costs, measurements, variations and commercial documentation.
• Coordinate with design and project management teams to assess the cost impact of design changes and variations.
• Assist in preparing and reviewing work orders, purchase orders, subcontract agreements and procurement documentation.
• Support interim billing, certification and payment processes.
• Assist with final account settlements, reconciliation and post-project cost reporting.
• Coordinate with multiple project stakeholders to ensure commercial requirements are met within project timelines.
• Maintain proper documentation and ensure compliance with applicable commercial construction practices and standards.

Qualifications & Experience

• Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related field.
• 1–3 years of relevant experience in Quantity Surveying, preferably within commercial fit-out, interior construction or building projects.
• Hands-on experience in BOQ preparation, quantity take-offs, rate analysis and cost estimation.
• Exposure to subcontractor/vendor quotation evaluation and commercial negotiations.
• Basic ability to read and interpret AutoCAD drawings.
• Familiarity with cost management, estimation or quantity surveying software is preferred.
• Working knowledge of IS Codes and commercial construction practices.
• Candidates with experience handling multiple projects or trades will be preferred.

Preferred Profile

Candidates with hands-on experience in commercial interior fit-out projects, particularly those who have independently handled BOQs, quantity take-offs, rate analysis, vendor/subcontractor quotations and project cost tracking, are preferred.
