Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage Customer Inspections & FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing) for both local and export customers, including all required documentation.
  • Maintain process-level documentation and ensure accurate recordkeeping.
  • Plan and control daily and monthly testing activities aligned with turnover targets.
  • Organize, monitor, and control the testing area: assign tasks, manage materials, tools, and ensure adherence to safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives.
  • Provide technical and quality support to technicians; coordinate with support functions to resolve issues.
  • Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for workstations and initiate corrective actions when needed.
  • Actively participate in Gemba walks, Quality Gemba, 5S audits, and Safety Meetings.
  • Plan, assign, and support employee training and development; maintain skills matrix and track progress.
  • Lead and execute continuous improvement projects, including cost-saving initiatives using AI and data analytics.
  • Utilize AI tools and predictive analytics to identify process inefficiencies, reduce waste, and optimize resource utilization.
  • Monitor employee performance, conduct growth talks, and support career development.
  • Manage internal and external QMS/EHS audits including documentation, process compliance, and employee training.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Education: B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience: 3 to 6 years in a related field/industry, preferably in Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) or Air Insulated Switchgear (AIS) or medium voltage Switchgear.
  • Core: Understanding of power systems, electrical circuits, and protection schemes
  • Knowledge of medium and high voltage equipment (e.g., circuit breakers, isolators, CTs, PTs)
  • Familiarity with IEC, IEEE, and IS standards related to switchgear design and testing.
  • Communication: Strong professional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • EHS Knowledge: Understanding of Environmental Health and Safety regulations and procedures.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to motivate and engage teams to achieve operational goals.
  • Problem Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills (e.g. 8D, Fishbone, FMEA).
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards.
  • Experience in internal audits, CAPA, and process documentation.
  • Knowledge of QMS implementation and continual improvement
  • AI & Data Analytics: Familiarity with AI-driven tools, data analysis platforms, and their application in cost reduction and process improvement.

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Demonstrated ability to manage supervised groups, including performance management and disciplinary actions.
  • Lean Manufacturing: Advanced knowledge of Lean principles and waste elimination techniques, Six Sigma, or Kaizen.
  • Knowledge of Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) practices.
  • Exposure to Industry 4.0 technologies like IoT, digital twins, and smart switchgear.
