Job Description

Job Title: Quality Engineer (Fabrication & Press Shop)

Location: Bhamboli, Chakan phase II

Experience: 58 Years

Department: Quality Assurance

To ensure product quality and process compliance in fabrication and press shop operations, driving continuous improvement initiatives, customer satisfaction, and adherence to industry standards.

Key Responsibilities
- Quality Control & Assurance
- Monitor and maintain quality standards across fabrication and press shop processes.
- Conduct in-process and final inspections, ensuring compliance with drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.
- Develop and implement quality control plans, inspection checklists, and sampling methods.

- Problem Solving & Root Cause Analysis
- Lead investigations into quality issues, applying tools such as 8D, Fishbone, and Why-Why analysis.
- Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to eliminate recurring defects.

- Process & System Compliance
- Ensure adherence to ISO/TS 16949, IATF 16949, and other relevant quality management systems.
- Support internal and external audits, preparing documentation and driving closure of non-conformities.

- Supplier & Customer Interaction
- Collaborate with suppliers for incoming material quality assurance.
- Handle customer complaints, ensuring timely resolution and communication.

- Continuous Improvement
- Drive initiatives for reducing rework, scrap, and operational losses.
- Support lean manufacturing and Six Sigma projects to enhance process capability.

Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of fabrication and press shop processes.
- Proficiency in quality tools: SPC, MSA, PPAP, FMEA, APQP.
- Hands-on experience with measuring instruments (Vernier, Micrometer, Height Gauge, CMM).
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
- Excellent analytical, documentation, and reporting skills.
- Strong communication and leadership abilities to coordinate across teams.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree/Diploma in Mechanical/Production Engineering.
- 68 years of experience in quality assurance within auto component manufacturing (fabrication & press shop preferred).
- Certification in Six Sigma/Lean/Quality Management Systems is an added advantage.

Performance Indicators
- Reduction in customer complaints and internal rejections.
- Improvement in process capability indices (Cp, Cpk).
- Compliance rate in audits (internal/external).
- Achievement of cost reduction targets through quality improvements.
