Key Responsibilities
1. Fabrication & Welding Inspection
- Conduct visual inspections of fit-up and welding on primary (frames/columns) and secondary (purlins/girts) members.
- Monitor welding parameters to ensure compliance with Weld Procedure Specifications (WPS).
- Coordinate Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) including Ultrasonic (UT), Magnetic Particle (MT), and Dye Penetrant (PT) testing.
2. Material Verification
- Inspect incoming raw materials (plates, coils, bolts) against Mill Test Certificates (MTC).
3. Dimensional Accuracy
- Verify the precision of built-up sections, ensuring web and flange alignments, hole placements, and overall lengths match the shop drawings.
- Manage tolerances for sweep, camber, and squareness.
4. Surface Preparation & Coating
- Inspect sandblasting/shot-blasting profiles to ensure proper surface roughness.
- Measure Dry Film Thickness (DFT) of primers and finish paints using calibrated gauges to prevent corrosion.
5. Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain comprehensive Quality Records, including Material Traceability Reports and Final Inspection Reports.
- Issue Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) when parts fail to meet standards and oversee the rework process.
