Quality Assurance Manager

Role Overview

NR Consulting is looking for an experienced QA Manager to lead quality assurance activities across software development projects. The ideal candidate should have strong experience in manual testing, automation testing, QA processes, test planning, team management, release quality, defect control, and stakeholder communication.

This role requires someone who can manage QA teams, define testing strategy, improve testing processes, and ensure high-quality software delivery across web, mobile, SaaS, and enterprise applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage QA teams across multiple projects.
• Define QA strategy, test plans, test approach, timelines, and quality standards.
• Review business requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and technical documents.
• Oversee manual testing, automation testing, regression testing, integration testing, API testing, UAT support, and release validation.
• Ensure proper test case design, test execution, defect reporting, and defect closure.
• Track QA progress, defect trends, release readiness, and quality metrics.
• Coordinate with developers, business analysts, product owners, project managers, and leadership.
• Drive automation testing adoption and improve testing efficiency.
• Manage QA estimates, resource planning, workload allocation, and team performance.
• Ensure timely delivery of high-quality releases with minimum production defects.
• Prepare QA dashboards, status reports, risk reports, and release sign-off documentation.
• Mentor QA Analysts, Senior QA Engineers, and Automation Testers.

Required Skills

• 7+ years of experience in software quality assurance, with experience leading QA teams.
• Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, SDLC, STLC, Agile, Scrum, and release management.
• Experience in manual testing, automation testing, regression testing, API testing, and UAT support.
• Hands-on experience with tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, TestRail, Zephyr, Postman, Swagger, or similar.
• Good understanding of automation tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Appium, or similar.
• Ability to define QA processes, testing standards, defect management process, and release quality controls.
• Strong team management, stakeholder management, communication, and documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment.

Preferred Skills

• Experience testing web applications, mobile applications, SaaS platforms, enterprise applications, or cloud-based systems.
• Basic understanding of SQL, databases, APIs, CI/CD pipelines, DevOps, and performance testing.
• Exposure to security testing, accessibility testing, and test automation frameworks will be preferred.
• Experience managing distributed or remote QA teams.
• QA certifications such as ISTQB, Agile, Scrum, or similar will be an added advantage.

The ideal candidate should be process-driven, detail-oriented, and strong in team leadership. The person should be able to balance speed and quality, guide the QA team effectively, and ensure releases go out clean without turning every production issue into a crime scene investigation.
