Role Description

Unified Infotech is looking for an experienced QA Manager / Principal Engineer – QA to lead quality engineering initiatives for mid-scale and complex applications. The role requires a strong passion for software quality, team leadership, software system design, requirements understanding, and client satisfaction.

The ideal candidate will lead a team of Quality Analysts and QA Engineers while working closely with Product, Engineering, Business, and Client teams to ensure high-quality, reliable, and business-aligned product releases.

The role requires a strong understanding of business requirements, SDLC and STLC, software testing methodologies, web and mobile technologies, test automation, and quality engineering practices. The candidate will also be responsible for mentoring the QA team, improving testing processes, identifying risks, and driving continuous quality improvements across projects.

Desired Experience

1. 10+ years of overall experience in software testing and quality assurance.
2. Proven experience working closely with development teams to understand requirements, identify risks, and communicate business and technical impacts of defects.
3. Minimum 2 years of experience managing and mentoring a QA team of at least 4–5 members.
4. Strong creative thinking, problem-solving, planning, time-management, and organizational skills.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with customers, support teams, engineering teams, and management.
6. Strong experience in identifying, assessing, and managing risks during product discovery, development, testing, and production launches.

Job Requirements

1. Collaborate with Engineering Managers, Developers, Product Managers, and other stakeholders to design and execute integration, system, regression, and release testing.
2. Define efficient processes for test planning, test design, test preparation, execution, reporting, and release validation.
3. Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) and STLC (Software Testing Life Cycle).
4. Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and direction to the Quality Assurance team.
5. Analyze business and functional requirements and translate them into comprehensive test scenarios and test cases.
6. Ensure effective execution of both manual and automated testing across appropriate testing phases.
7. Hands-on experience with test automation and scripting using widely adopted automation tools such as Selenium or equivalent frameworks.
8. Define, track, and analyze QA and product quality metrics such as defect density, defect leakage, test coverage, automation coverage, and release quality, with a focus on continuous improvement.
9. Collaborate with business development and pre-sales teams when required to provide QA expertise, support solution discussions, and ensure quality considerations are aligned with proposed solutions and delivery plans.
10. Working knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases such as MySQL, Oracle, MongoDB, Cassandra, Neo4j, Redis, or equivalent technologies is an added advantage.
11. Hands-on experience with Git and version-control practices is required.
12. Stay updated with emerging QA methodologies, testing tools, automation frameworks, digital technologies, and industry best practices, while promoting continuous learning within the team.
13. Strong experience working in Agile/Scrum environments, including sprint planning, refinement, daily stand-ups, reviews, retrospectives, and release activities.
14. Demonstrate a continuous-learning mindset along with a strong Can-Do / Get-It-Done attitude.
15. Excellent time-management, multitasking, prioritization, and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities effectively.
16. Be results-oriented, dependable, accountable, and comfortable working under pressure while managing multiple projects, stakeholders, and delivery complexities.
