Quality Assurance Lead

POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are looking for a seasoned Quality Assurance Engineer with deep enterprise experience to lead testing strategy, build robust automation frameworks, and drive quality across complex, multi-team software delivery pipelines. This is a high-impact role for a quality advocate who can influence engineering culture at scale.

JOB DETAILS:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Test Strategy & Planning

• Define and own end-to-end QA strategy for large-scale enterprise products
• Design test plans covering functional, regression, integration, and performance testing
• Collaborate with product owners and architects on acceptance criteria and quality gates

Test Automation

• Build and maintain scalable automation frameworks (Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, Appium)
• Develop API test suites using Rest Assured, Postman/Newman, or Karate
• Integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines ensuring fast feedback cycles

Performance & Load Testing

• Design and execute performance, load, and stress test scenarios using JMeter or Gatling
• Define performance benchmarks and baselines for critical business workflows
• Work with SRE teams on production-readiness and performance SLAs

Quality Process & Governance

• Champion shift-left testing practices, embedding QA early in the development lifecycle
• Define and track quality metrics: defect escape rate, test coverage, flakiness rate
• Lead QA guild or community of practice across squads

Security & Compliance Testing

• Coordinate with security teams on SAST/DAST integration and vulnerability testing
• Ensure compliance with enterprise standards (SOX, HIPAA, PCI-DSS where applicable)

Mentorship & Leadership

• Mentor junior QA engineers and define best practices across the organization
• Drive QA tooling selection, vendor evaluation, and process improvement initiatives

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• 5+ years of QA engineering experience in enterprise software development environments
• Expert-level proficiency in at least one automation framework: Selenium, Playwright, or Cypress
• Strong programming skills in Java, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or C#
• Proven experience with API testing tools (Postman, RestAssured, SoapUI)
• Hands-on experience with performance testing tools: JMeter, Gatling, or k6
• Experience integrating automated tests in CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI)
• Deep understanding of SDLC, Agile/Scrum, and SAFe frameworks
• Strong knowledge of testing types: functional, regression, smoke, UAT, exploratory

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• ISTQB Advanced Level or equivalent certification
• Experience with behavior-driven development (BDD) using Cucumber, SpecFlow, or Behave
• Background with contract testing (Pact) and consumer-driven contract testing
• Familiarity with accessibility testing standards (WCAG 2.1, Section 508)
• Exposure to AI/ML-based testing tools and intelligent test generation
• Experience in regulated industries (fintech, healthcare, insurance, telecom)
