Job Title: QE Automation Lead Enterprise Quality Engineering Practice

Role Summary
We are looking for a seasoned QE Automation Lead to drive enterprise-level Quality Engineering initiatives across multiple accounts and technology landscapes.
This is a practice leadership role, not a project-level position. The ideal candidate will combine deep hands-on expertise in Playwright automation with strong capabilities in strategy, governance, and client engagement.
You will be responsible for building scalable QE frameworks, leading teams, driving automation adoption, and establishing enterprise-wide quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. QE Strategy & Governance
- Define and implement an enterprise-wide Quality Engineering strategy
- Drive shift-left and automation-first testing approaches
- Establish governance frameworks across accounts and programs
- Define and track KPIs such as:
- Test coverage
- Regression cycle time
- Defect leakage
- Automation ROI
- Implement risk-based testing models
- Standardize QE processes, tools, and best practices across projects
2. Advanced Playwright Expertise (Mandatory)
Demonstrate deep hands-on expertise in building and scaling Playwright frameworks:
- Design modular, scalable automation frameworks from scratch
- Implement multi-layer automation (UI, API, GraphQL)
- Develop advanced locator strategies and stability mechanisms
- Handle authentication, session management, and state reuse
- Enable cross-browser and device emulation testing
- Optimize parallel execution and test performance
- Identify and resolve flaky tests with stabilization strategies
- Integrate with tools like Allure, Lighthouse, and custom dashboards
- Enable CI/CD pipelines with Docker-based execution
- Customize frameworks for enterprise-scale use cases
Must have built or significantly customized enterprise-grade frameworks not just script-level automation.

4. AI-Augmented QE (Strongly Preferred)
- Experience with AI tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or similar assistants
- Understanding of self-healing automation frameworks
- Exposure to AI-driven test case generation
- Familiarity with Playwright Planner / Healer concepts
- Strategies for flaky test reduction using AI
- Prompt engineering for improving automation productivity
5. Leadership & Client Engagement
- Lead QE teams across programs (520+ members)
- Drive estimation, planning, and execution governance
- Create and present QE strategy decks and execution plans
- Conduct client workshops and automation maturity assessments
- Manage distributed teams and cross-functional collaboration
- Mentor and upskill automation engineers
- Drive enterprise-wide automation adoption
6. Execution & Planning
- Define test strategies and detailed test plans
- Develop automation estimation, models
- Plan regression cycles and support release sign-offs
- Lead defect analysis and RCA discussions
- Define and execute automation roadmaps
- Evaluate and onboard QE tools and frameworks
7. Enterprise Framework Engineering
- Design reusable automation accelerators and utilities
- Build scalable enterprise automation frameworks
- Integrate with:
- CI/CD pipelines
- Reporting dashboards
- Test data management systems
- Environment orchestration tools
- Enable multi-tenant framework architecture
- Ensure scalability across multiple applications and teams
- Govern multiple automation stacks across programs
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 6+ years in Quality Engineering / Test Automation
- Deep hands-on expertise in Playwright (mandatory)
- Strong experience across UI, API, Mobile, and Performance testing
- Proven experience building enterprise automation frameworks
- Strong understanding of CI/CD, DevOps, and cloud environments
- Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills
