Job Title: QA Analyst Power BI & P&C Insurance

About the Role: We are seeking an experienced QA Analyst with strong expertise in Power BI testing, data validation, and Property & Casualty (P&C) Insurance domain. The ideal candidate should have deep knowledge of insurance data models, claims, policy, underwriting workflows, and experience validating complex reports, dashboards, ETL pipelines, and SQL datasets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform end-to-end QA for Power BI reports, dashboards, paginated reports, and data models. Validate data accuracy, DAX measures, KPIs, drilldowns, slicers, and row-level security (RLS) implementations.
- Conduct data reconciliation and source-to-target validation across SQL databases, data warehouses, and ETL pipelines.
- Analyze business requirements and translate them into detailed test plans, test cases, and test scenarios.
- Perform functional, regression, system integration, and UAT testing for BI and analytical solutions.
- Validate insurance-related datasets including policy, claims, billing, underwriting, loss ratios, reserves, premium calculations, and actuarial data. Collaborate with business users, data engineers, and BI developers to identify defects and ensure timely resolution. Work with Azure Data Factory, Data Lakes, or other cloud data platforms for data validation (good to have). Create automated validation scripts using SQL or Python to speed up regression cycles.
- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and maintain test documentation in JIRA/Confluence.
Required Qualifications:
- 510 years of experience as a QA Analyst in Data/BI/Analytics projects. Strong experience testing Power BI dashboards, datasets, and DAX calculations. Solid expertise in SQL queries for data validation, profiling, and reconciliation.
- Deep understanding of P&C Insurance domain (Policy, Claims, Underwriting, FNOL, Premiums, Loss & Reserve Calculations, ISO, Rating Models). Experience with ETL/ELT testing, data pipelines, and data quality frameworks.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify data inconsistencies and reporting issues.
- Experience with manual and automated testing for data workflows. Hands-on experience with Agile methodologies and tools like JIRA. Excellent communication skills and ability to work with technical + business teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Python for data validation or automation. Knowledge of Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Snowflake, AWS Redshift, or other cloud data platforms. Experience with API testing using Postman or similar tools.
