Position: QC Engineer / QC Inspector
Location: Kutch, Gujarat, India
Project: SAWL Carbon Steel Linepipe Manufacturing
Engagement Duration: 15 April 2026 - 20 May 2026 (Approx. 30-35 mandays; Daily inspections)
Work Schedule: 8 hours/day (Overtime applicable only with prior approval)
About The Project
This role supports quality assurance and inspection activities for SAWL (Submerged Arc Welded Longitudinal) carbon steel linepipe manufacturing under the NOC RUYA EPC09 project.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in the PreInspection Meeting (PIM) scheduled for 15 April 2026.
- Witness all inspection activities as per the Quality Control Plan (ITP) including production stages and quality checkpoints.
- Verify qualifications of CONTRACTOR and SUBCONTRACTOR personnel for assigned tasks.
- Ensure proper material receiving, traceability, and documentation throughout the manufacturing process.
- Witness and monitor welding, NDT activities (RT/UT/MT), mechanical testing, and dimensional controls.
- Oversee final inspection and release compliance.
- Monitor progress, expedite critical inspection activities, and report any discrepancies to the Client (CPY).
- Review Material Test Certificates (MTC), final documentation, and inspection reports on behalf of CPY.
- Prepare and submit daily and weekly inspection reports to project stakeholders.
Required Experience
More than 10 years of experience in SAWL pipe manufacturing, welding inspections, and NDT operations.
Required Qualifications & Certifications- CSWIP 3.2 certification (Senior Welding Inspector).
- NDT Level II certification (ISO 9712) in RT, UT, MT.
- Hands-on experience with AUT (Automatic Ultrasonic Testing) equipment for SAWL pipe testing as per:
- Strong background in Site Quality Control for SAWL pipe manufacturing environments.
