We are seeking a highly experienced QA Manager to lead quality engineering initiatives across complex data, cloud, and enterprise software programs. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong technical depth, automation expertise, and proven leadership capabilities.
Role Summary
The QA Manager will be responsible for defining and driving enterprise-level quality strategy, scaling automation frameworks, and leading high-performing QA teams. The ideal candidate will have deep experience in both manual and automated testing, strong architectural understanding, and experience working in Agile/DevOps-driven environments.
You will collaborate closely with Engineering, Product, Data, and DevOps teams to ensure high-quality releases, reduced defects, and predictable delivery outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
1. QA Strategy & Leadership
- Define and implement enterprise-wide QA strategy aligned with business and engineering objectives.
- Lead and mentor QA teams, fostering a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Own high-complexity quality initiatives across multiple projects or product lines.
- Establish best practices for quality governance, risk management, and release readiness.
2. Test Architecture & Automation
- Architect, design, and maintain scalable test automation frameworks.
- Drive automation-first strategy across UI, API, data, and integration layers.
- Develop robust test strategies for multi-tiered, distributed, and cloud-based systems.
- Ensure comprehensive test coverage including functional, regression, performance, and security testing.
3. Technical Oversight
- Analyze complex enterprise systems and develop optimized manual and automated testing solutions.
- Provide accurate effort estimations for testing activities.
- Review test results, analyze defects, and recommend corrective actions.
- Ensure version control, branching strategies, and CI/CD integration are aligned with QA processes.
- Demonstrate mastery in object-oriented design principles, test framework architecture, and SDLC processes.
4. Cloud & Enterprise Systems Quality
- Lead testing efforts for cloud-native applications and multi-tier architectures.
- Ensure validation across distributed data systems, APIs, microservices, and enterprise integrations.
- Support DevOps and continuous testing practices within CI/CD pipelines.
5. Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Act as a key quality advocate across Engineering, Product, and Business stakeholders.
- Communicate quality metrics, risks, and release readiness to leadership.
- Drive transparency through quality dashboards and KPIs.
- Serve as Product SME or specialist across one or more product lines.
6. Continuous Improvement & Efficiency
- Continuously optimize QA processes to improve speed, efficiency, and release quality.
- Identify gaps and implement automation or process improvements.
- Stay up to date with evolving development technologies and testing tools.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in QA and/or software development.
- 3+ years of managerial or team leadership experience.
- Proven expertise in designing and maintaining complex test automation frameworks.
- Mastery of multiple programming languages used in automation (e.g., Java, Python, JavaScript, etc.).
- Strong understanding of:
- Object-Oriented Design patterns
- Data structures
- Version control and branching strategies (Git-based workflows)
- SDLC and Agile methodologies
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Hands-on experience with JIRA or similar SDLC tools.
- Strong analytical, estimation, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
- Proven experience building and scaling QA functions in enterprise environments.
- Experience testing cloud-native applications (AWS/Azure/GCP).
- Exposure to data engineering, analytics, or AI/ML platforms.
- Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.
- Track record of improving release quality metrics in large-scale programs.
