Role Overview Step into a leadership role at Playbook Sports, a complex B2B SaaS platform built on Django. In this role, you will report directly to the CTO and take ownership of our entire testing lifecycle. You will balance hands-on automation work with managing a team of manual testers, shaping the QA strategy for a fast-growing sports tech product.
Compensation: Starting at $1100/month (depending on experience)
Key Responsibilities
- Direct QA Strategy: Lead comprehensive testing initiatives across our complex web platform, balancing manual and automated efforts.
- Team & Process Leadership: Manage, mentor, and scale our team of manual QA testers, establishing robust testing frameworks optimized for our resources.
- Drive Automation: Enhance the existing automated test suite and spearhead the creation of new tests for complex SaaS workflows.
- Champion AI Integration: Continuously evaluate, pilot, and deploy cutting-edge AI QA tools to multiply the team's output and efficiency.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Senior Developers to troubleshoot complex scenarios and engineer creative testing solutions.
Technical & Professional Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in automated QA at an absolute minimum, with 8+ years being ideal. At least 2 years experience leading teams and shaping processes.
- Strong coding skills in Python, which is critical for understanding and testing our Django-based architecture.
- Extensive hands-on experience writing automated tests using frameworks like Selenium, Playwright, or similar modern tools.
- Solid understanding of API testing, database state management, and multi-tenant SaaS environments.
- Proven leadership experience managing or mentoring manual QA teams.
- Hands-on experience utilizing AI tools to enhance QA processes and test generation.
