Aon is looking for a Quality Assurance Lead

As part of an industry-leading team, you will help empower results for our clients by delivering innovative and effective solutions based at the Aon STG Bengaluru Center of Excellence.

Life Solutions at Aon provides high-productivity computing software, consulting services, and advisory services to financial intermediaries, primarily insurance companies. Life Solutions high-performance software platform, PathWise, provides companies with the ability to easily model financial obligations without the need for complex coding and is run on Graphical Processing Units (GPU), making it the fastest, readily available software platform currently in use in the insurance industry.

Your Impact as a Quality Assurance Lead

This position will serve as the most senior Quality Assurance authority within the team, leading all QA and Testing activities for the PathWise high-performance software platform within Life Solutions. As a seasoned professional, you will manage the end-to-end QA lifecycle, interact directly with Software Development leadership, and define the overarching testing strategy for the group. You will play a pivotal role in building and mentoring a new team of QA engineers in Bengaluru to ensure the highest quality standards for our releases.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Define, document, and maintain the comprehensive Test Strategy and Test Plans for the PathWise platform, ensuring alignment with project goals and release timelines.
  • Team Management: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Quality Assurance Engineers oversee task allocation, performance, and career development.
  • End-to-End QA Ownership: Manage the complete QA process from requirements analysis to final release sign-off, ensuring all functional and non-functional requirements are met.
  • Collaboration: Act as the primary point of contact for QA, collaborating closely with Software Development Leads, Product Managers, and DevOps to integrate quality processes into the SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle).
  • Test Execution: Create and execute comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases for the PathWise software system.
  • Release Validation: Perform User Acceptance Testing (UAT) on features and bug fixes implemented by the Software Development team for quarterly releases.
  • Benchmarking: Perform testing and benchmarking of client models on new PathWise software releases to ensure performance stability.
  • Automation: Design, develop, and execute automation scripts using open-source tools in Python drive the adoption of automated testing frameworks to reduce manual effort.
  • Defect Management: Identify, record, document, and track bugs lead triage meetings to prioritize fixes with development teams.
  • Regression: Perform thorough regression testing on bugs and features to ensure backward compatibility and system stability.
  • Process Improvement: Develop and apply testing processes for new and existing products to meet client needs continuously evaluate and improve QA methodologies.

You Bring Knowledge and Expertise

  • 10+ years of experience in software quality assurance, with a proven track record of managing QA processes for complex software systems.
  • 3+ years of experience in a Lead or Management role, specifically guiding QA teams and defining testing strategies.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strategic Mindset: Demonstrated ability to define test strategies (functional, performance, security) and implement them effectively.
  • Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, testing frameworks, tools, and processes.
  • Hands-on experience with white box, black box, stress, functional, and regression testing.
  • Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience with automated testing tools and strong scripting skills (Python is highly preferred).
  • Experience in High-Performance Computing (HPC) or financial software environments is a plus.
  • Experience with benchmarking, performance, and/or security testing is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with global development teams and stakeholders.
