What This Role Is About
This role is focused on validating correctness of results, data, and logic across systems. The work goes beyond running UI flows and looks at whether the output is actually right. Providing error evidence reports, identifying false positives/negatives, unmatched scoring, etc. and fact-checking all results will be the crux of this role. The position suits professionals who are comfortable working with logic-driven systems, reviewing outcomes critically, and collaborating closely with engineering teams to resolve discrepancies.
Responsibilities:
- Validate business rules, calculations, and logic outcomes.
- Create auditable evidence, bug reports, documents, etc. for internal documentation to close the loop with developers by getting them fixed.
- Identify cases where the UI looks correct but output data or visible results are wrong. An independently curious mindset which will make you look.
- Cross-check UI, API responses, and database records
- Perform API and backend validation to confirm correctness
- Create clear, evidence-backed bug reports for logic and data issues
- Work with developers constantly to investigate why a result is incorrect
Past Roles & Experience Should Include (important)
An ideal candidate should have previously:
- Worked in roles involving data validation, rule validation, or output verification. Good experience in investigating systems/UI output errors.
- Have audited bugs and errors, documented evidence to get them fixed and created evidence reports for the same. (Creation of internal reports, briefs and memos being a core part of last profile's deliverables is a strong value-add for this role).
- Compared outputs across multiple layers (UI, API, database) to confirm correctness.
- Tested logic-heavy or rule-driven systems (finance, insurance, healthcare, compliance, workflows) and reported defects beyond UI issues, including logic and data inconsistencies
- Flagged defects caused by configuration changes or rule updates. Collaborated regularly with developers to debug non-visual/non-UI issues.
Examples of suitable past roles (specific roles or surrounding ones) :
- Fact-checking / editorial QA
- Research analyst with strong validation habits
- Content integrity / quality reviewer roles
- QA/audit roles in knowledge-base or search products
Required Skills (technical And Soft)
- Strong validation and correctness mindset. Experience in SQL.
- API testing experience (Postman, Rest Assured, similar).
- Clear documentation and bug reporting skills.
- Supreme attention to detail and an investigative mindset to inspect visual errors, bugs, etc. independently.
- Ability to reason about expected vs actual outcomes. A fact-checking mindset.
