Join a team that is redefining the accessibility of space. Azista space is a transformative force in the global aerospace sector, uniquely positioned at the intersection of indigenous innovation and industrial scalability. Operating India's first private-sector satellite mass-production facility in Ahmedabad, we have bridged the gap between complex engineering and high-volume manufacturing.
As a vertically integrated leader, we provide end-to-end solutions from the precision design of satellite buses and advanced payloads to mission management and communication systems. We don't just build hardware, we are democratizing the final frontier by providing global clientele with the cost-effective, high-performance technology needed to power the next generation of orbital missions. At Azista, you won't just be starting a job, you'll be fuelling the future of space exploration.
About the Role:
We are looking for a QA Engineer (Process & Standards) to join our advanced manufacturing team in Ahmedabad, where cutting-edge aerospace innovation meets high-volume production. In this role, you will work at the core of process quality engineering, ensuring that manufacturing systems for precision optics are robust, repeatable, and compliant from the ground up.
You won't just be inspecting quality—you'll be engineering it into the process, driving upstream improvements that directly impact First Pass Yield (FPY), process reliability, and mission-critical performance. This is a high-impact role for professionals passionate about cleanroom manufacturing, process validation, and zero-defect quality systems in a space-tech environment.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and validate standardized manufacturing processes for optical bonding, alignment, and coating to ensure consistent, high-precision outputs
- Author and optimize Quality Assurance Plans (QAPs) and work instructions to improve clarity, compliance, and repeatability
- Establish and enforce cleanroom protocols (ISO 14644) and contamination control strategies to protect optical integrity
- Conduct process audits to ensure adherence to approved procedures and drive improvements in process compliance rates
- Manage equipment calibration programs and metrology systems to ensure measurement accuracy and traceability
- Lead CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Action) initiatives, identifying root causes and implementing systemic fixes to eliminate recurring issues
- Review and approve engineering and process changes, ensuring no compromise in quality or reliability standards
- Monitor and improve key metrics such as First Pass Yield (FPY), process capability, and CAPA effectiveness
- Maintain detailed documentation of process validations, audits, and quality records for compliance and traceability
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Optical, Systems Engineering, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in Process QA, Quality Engineering, or Manufacturing Quality Systems
- Strong expertise in Statistical Process Control (SPC), process validation, and root cause analysis
- Hands-on experience with cleanroom standards (ISO 14644) and contamination control in precision manufacturing environments
- Proven ability to develop and manage QAPs, SOPs, and technical documentation
- Experience in audit methodologies, CAPA management, and quality compliance frameworks
- Familiarity with metrology systems, calibration processes, and measurement system analysis (MSA)
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret and improve process performance metrics (FPY, Cp/Cpk)
- Excellent cross-functional collaboration and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Six Sigma Green Belt / Black Belt or Lean Manufacturing certification
- Knowledge of IPC standards and advanced cleanroom classifications (ISO Class 5/7)
- Exposure to environmental and reliability testing (TVAC, vibration testing) in aerospace or high-precision industries
