QA Engineer

Firstventure is seeking a diligent and detail-oriented QA Engineer to join our team. The QA Engineer will be responsible for meticulously testing our software products to identify defects, ensure adherence to specifications, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our applications. This role involves understanding application functionality, creating comprehensive test cases, executing tests, reporting defects, and suggesting enhancements.

Quality Assurance Role and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for testing our software products for defects by referring to the development documentation and understanding the application functionality.
• Create clear, concise, and detail-oriented test plans and test cases.
• Execute and evaluate manual or automated test cases and report test results accurately.
• Use a bug tracking system to report defects to software developers effectively.
• Determine, analyze, and record problems with program function, output, online screen, or content.
• Identify any potential quality issues per defined process and escalate them immediately to management.
• Ensure that validated deliverables meet functional and design specifications and requirements.
• Isolate, replicate, and report defects, and verify defect fixes efficiently.
• Document the entire quality testing process comprehensively.
• Describe the program, evaluation methods of testing, and improvements made to the software.
• Provide and process information in response to customer (support) inquiries, concerns, and requests about products and services.
• Gather customer information and determine the issue by evaluating and analyzing the symptoms.
• Analyze support logs to spot common trends and underlying problems.
• Update self-help documents so customers can try to fix problems themselves.
• Ability to understand and create test plans from specifications or verbal communications.
• Liaise effectively with development, project management, and customer support teams.

• Possesses good written and verbal presentation and communication skills.
• Experience with Jira is a huge bonus.
• ISTQB certification is a huge bonus.
• Expertise in database testing in MySQL Server environments, including designing and manipulating test data, validating stored procedures, jobs, triggers, and replication, is a HUGE bonus.

Qualifications Sought:

• Graduate degree required.
• Enterprise or e-business systems experience preferred.
