We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Test Automation Engineer to join our Quality Assurance (QA) team who will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing automated tests to ensure product quality. This role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams to define testing strategies, enhance our automation framework, and ensure that all aspects of the software are fully tested.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and execute automation scripts using open source and commercial tools(Eg: Selenium, Cypress, Playwright).
- Identify, record, document thoroughly, and track bugs.
- Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved.
- Develop and apply testing processes for new and existing products to meet client needs.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams, including developers and product managers, to precisely understand and define system requirements.
- Monitor debugging process results.
- Stay up-to-date with new testing tools and test strategies.
- Act as the gatekeeper for project hygiene, ensuring that all code, documentation, and processes meet the highest standards of quality before release.
- Market QA as a service to clients, effectively communicating the value proposition and benefits of our QA processes and methodologies to enhance client engagement and satisfaction.
- Innovate in the QA domain, particularly with respect to artificial intelligence (AI) technologies. Propose and develop new testing frameworks or methodologies that leverage AI to improve test efficiency, coverage, and effectiveness.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience
- Proven work experience in software development and software quality assurance.
- Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
- Experience in writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases.
- Hands-on experience with automated testing tools.
- Experience with both white box and black box testing.
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process.
- Experience with performance and/or security testing is a plus.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to propose innovative solutions that leverage the latest in QA technologies and methodologies, especially related to AI and machine learning.
- Proven track record of initiating and leading projects that improve quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
- Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organisation and with clients to sell the value of QA services.
Good To Have
- Familiarity with programming languages such as Java, C#, Python, or JavaScript.
- Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
- Knowledge of web and mobile UI frameworks.
- Knowledge of HTML-CSS and front end behaviour for better test design.
- Certifications relevant to software testing (ISTQB, CSTE, etc.).
- A keen eye for detail and a commitment to excellence.
- Experience or a strong interest in AI and machine learning, with a vision for how these technologies can transform QA processes.
- Knowledge of or experience in developing AI-based testing tools or integrating AI methodologies into existing QA processes.
- Business development skills, with the ability to identify new opportunities for QA services and articulate the value proposition to potential clients.
Collaboration and Communication
- Work closely with the development team to understand product changes and roadmap.
- Collaborate with product management to ensure customer satisfaction and manage customer feedback.
- Provide regular updates to team members and stakeholders on project status, risks, and testing outcomes.
- Serve as a key contact point for QA services, both internally and with clients, ensuring transparency, and promoting the value of QA throughout the project lifecycle.
- Lead by example, fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement within the QA team and across the organization.
