About the job
Remote (India) Full-time
Target level: Junior / early mid, with real hands-on automation coding experience.
About Script Assist
Script Assist is building the operating system for next-generation private healthcare in the UK.
We power prescribing, dispensing, and operational workflows across clinics and pharmacies through a live production platform already supporting around 25,000 prescriptions per month, with the business growing roughly 10%-20% month on month.
This is not a prototype, internal tool, or early-stage MVP. It is real software used every day in a regulated environment where correctness, reliability, and workflow accuracy matter.
If you want to work on real software with real users, real complexity, and real product engineering standards, Script Assist is that kind of company.
The Role
We are hiring a QA Automation Engineer with real hands-on experience writing automated tests in Playwright and TypeScript.
This role is best suited to candidates who have worked on browser automation, end-to-end testing, workflow-heavy web products, UI automation, regression automation, test automation for operational systems, test stability and flaky-test reduction, and CI-based automation execution.
The more complex the workflows you have automated, the better.
We are not looking for manual QA only. We are looking for someone who can write and maintain real automation code.
What You'll Do
You will write and maintain automated tests in Playwright and TypeScript, automate real user flows across a production web platform, test workflow-heavy product areas, improve the reliability and stability of the automation suite, reduce flaky tests and improve confidence in releases, work with engineers to improve test coverage over time, run automation as part of development and release workflows, and help raise the overall quality bar across the product.
This role is not about only executing manual test cases. It is about building reliable automation for real product workflows.
What You'll Test
Clinic workflows: onboarding, forms and structured data capture, scheduling, operational audit trails.
Pharmacy workflows: prescribing and dispensing flows, product catalogue and stock checks, batch and expiry handling, inventory-related workflows, delivery tracking, and reconciliation.
Platform workflows: order lifecycle management, state changes, exception paths, workflow validation, and operational edge cases.
What We're Looking For
Strong hands-on experience with Playwright, TypeScript, test automation, end-to-end testing, browser automation, workflow-heavy testing, regression automation, test stability, and web application testing.
The strongest candidates will usually have worked on one or more of the following: Playwright automation frameworks, TypeScript-based automation code, workflow-heavy web products, product company QA automation, CI/CD test execution, flaky-test reduction, role-based or stateful workflow testing, regulated software, healthcare platforms, or inventory or operational systems.
Healthcare experience is helpful but not required.
AI-first Engineering Culture
We operate in an AI-first engineering culture.
We expect engineers to be comfortable using modern AI tools as part of software delivery, test creation, debugging, and day-to-day engineering work.
We value structured thinkers who can move quickly, work clearly, and operate effectively in a modern AI-enabled engineering environment.
This role is likely a good fit if you have worked on Playwright automation, TypeScript test automation, end-to-end testing for real products, workflow-heavy web applications, operational systems, product company QA automation, healthcare systems, or inventory or reconciliation workflows.
This role is probably not a fit if your experience is mainly manual testing only, bug reporting without automation coding, websites with very simple user flows, record-and-playback tools instead of coded automation, basic smoke tests only, little or no Playwright experience, or little or no TypeScript experience.
Apply
Apply if you write real automation code, enjoy testing complex product workflows, and want to work on a fast-growing platform solving meaningful real-world problems
