Job Responsibilities
- Application Design: Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs using Pythonic best practices.
- System Architecture: Architect efficient, reusable, and testable modules that serve as the backbone of high-performance applications.
- Data Integration: Build and optimize software for high-throughput data extraction and transformation from diverse sources (Streaming, SQL/NoSQL, and unstructured formats).
- Code Quality & Mentorship: Lead code reviews, enforce PEP 8 standards, and refactor legacy codebases to improve maintainability and performance.
- Performance Tuning: Identify bottlenecks in the application layer and optimize complex logic to ensure low-latency responses.
- Database Management: Write and optimize complex SQL queries and manage data persistence layers across relational (Oracle/SQL Server) and NoSQL (MongoDB) environments.
- Automation & Tooling: Develop internal tools and CLI applications to automate repetitive development tasks and deployment workflows.
- Collaboration: Work closely with frontend engineers and stakeholders to define API contracts and integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.
Skills & Qualifications
- Education: Undergraduate or higher degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- Core Experience: 3+ years of professional experience in Backend Development using Python.
- Python Mastery: Deep understanding of Python's data structures, decorators, generators, and asynchronous programming (asyncio).
- Framework Proficiency: Hands-on experience with modern web frameworks such as FastAPI, Django, or Flask.
- Libraries: Expertise in the Python ecosystem, including SQLAlchemy, Pydantic, and Pytest.
- Data Handling: Strong experience with data manipulation (Pandas) and handling various file formats (JSON, XML, Parquet).
- Database Expertise: Proficiency in SQL (PostgreSQL/MySQL) and familiarity with NoSQL (MongoDB/Redis).
- DevOps Literacy: Experience with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and version control (Git) is essential.
- Bonus Points: Knowledge of Apache Spark, cloud-native development (AWS/GCP), or experience building distributed systems.
