Role
We are looking for an experienced Senior Python Backend Developer with 10+ years of hands-on development experience in building scalable, high-performance backend systems. The ideal candidate should have deep expertise in Python, Django, REST APIs, AWS, and SQL, with strong architectural and problem-solving capabilities.
This role requires someone who can design backend systems from scratch, lead technical initiatives, mentor junior developers, and ensure best practices in performance, scalability, and security.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Python and Django.
- Architect and build robust RESTful APIs for web and mobile applications.
- Develop and optimize complex SQL queries and database schemas.
- Implement cloud-native solutions using AWS services.
- Collaborate with frontend developers, DevOps teams, and product managers.
- Lead backend design discussions and provide architectural guidance.
- Ensure code quality through reviews, testing, and CI/CD practices.
- Optimize application performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Implement security best practices for APIs and backend services.
- Mentor junior developers and drive engineering excellence.
Required Skills
- 10+ years of backend development experience.
- Strong proficiency in Python.
- Extensive experience with Django / Django REST Framework.
- Strong hands-on experience in building and consuming REST APIs.
- Solid experience with SQL databases (PostgreSQL / MySQL / Oracle).
- Strong knowledge of AWS (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, IAM, CloudWatch).
- Experience with microservices architecture.
- Knowledge of authentication mechanisms (JWT, OAuth2).
- Familiarity with Docker and CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong understanding of system design and distributed systems.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with caching systems (Redis, Memcached).
- Exposure to message brokers (Kafka, RabbitMQ).
- Experience with Kubernetes.
- Understanding of performance tuning and load balancing.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
