Job Summary
A PYP teacher is responsible for delivering the IB Primary Years Programme curriculum to students, fostering inquiry-based learning, and creating a supportive and inclusive classroom environment.
Responsibilities
- Implement the IB PYP curriculum, including units of inquiry, transdisciplinary themes, and subject-specific content.
- Plan and deliver engaging, student-centered lessons that promote inquiry, critical thinking, and problem-solving.
- Assess and evaluate student progress using a variety of formative and summative assessment methods.
- Provide constructive feedback to students and parents regarding academic performance.
- Maintain accurate records of student assessments and achievements.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages active participation and respectful behavior.
- Collaborate with other PYP teachers and school staff to align curriculum and instructional strategies.
- Stay current with developments in education, the IB curriculum, and best practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in education or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Familiarity with the IB PYP curriculum and philosophy.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and parents.
- Classroom management skills.
- Cultural sensitivity and an international perspective.
Work Schedule
- Mon, Tue, Thur, Fri - 7.50am to 4pm
- Wed - 7.50am to 4.30pm
