Job Description

Job Summary

A PYP teacher is responsible for delivering the IB Primary Years Programme curriculum to students, fostering inquiry-based learning, and creating a supportive and inclusive classroom environment.

Responsibilities

  • Implement the IB PYP curriculum, including units of inquiry, transdisciplinary themes, and subject-specific content.
  • Plan and deliver engaging, student-centered lessons that promote inquiry, critical thinking, and problem-solving.
  • Assess and evaluate student progress using a variety of formative and summative assessment methods.
  • Provide constructive feedback to students and parents regarding academic performance.
  • Maintain accurate records of student assessments and achievements.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages active participation and respectful behavior.
  • Collaborate with other PYP teachers and school staff to align curriculum and instructional strategies.
  • Stay current with developments in education, the IB curriculum, and best practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in education or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Familiarity with the IB PYP curriculum and philosophy.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and parents.
  • Classroom management skills.
  • Cultural sensitivity and an international perspective.

Work Schedule

  • Mon, Tue, Thur, Fri - 7.50am to 4pm
  • Wed - 7.50am to 4.30pm
