Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement & execute procurement strategies aligned with company goals.
  • Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers for high-quality chemicals, solvents, lab equipment, and packaging materials.
  • Manage procurement processes including RFQs, purchase orders, and contract management.
  • Ensure all purchases comply with industry regulations and maintain documentation for audits.
  • Establish and maintain vendor relationships, perform supplier audits, and assess performance on quality, price, lead time, and service.
  • Analyze market trends and implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising on purity standards or compliance.
  • Coordinate with production,QA/QC, R&D, and warehouse teams for real-time demand planning and inventory control.
  • Track market trends, price fluctuations, and lead-time changes for key raw materials.
  • Ensure procurement compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to forecast demand and plan purchases.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier information.
  • Use ERP systems to streamline procurement processes and maintain full traceability.
  • Implement and maintain procurement KPIs to evaluate operational efficiency and its performance. viz:- [On-time Delivery from Suppliers, Procurement Cost Savings (YoY), Vendor Lead Time Compliance, Purchase Order Accuracy, Supplier Defect Rate / Quality Rejections, Number of Approved Strategic Vendors, Stockout Incidents due to Procurement Delays, Contract Compliance Rate, Cycle Time for Procurement Process].

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Supply Chain, or Business Administration; Postgraduate or certifications (CIPS, CPM) preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in procurement or purchasing, ideally in chemical, pharmaceutical, or scientific product industries.
  • Strong knowledge of chemical and lab-grade material sourcing, vendor evaluation, and global compliance requirements.
  • Excellent negotiation skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple suppliers and timelines.
  • Proficiency with procurement software and ERP systems.
  • Knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques and a dexterity in reading the market
