Develop, implement & execute procurement strategies aligned with company goals.
Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers for high-quality chemicals, solvents, lab equipment, and packaging materials.
Manage procurement processes including RFQs, purchase orders, and contract management.
Ensure all purchases comply with industry regulations and maintain documentation for audits.
Establish and maintain vendor relationships, perform supplier audits, and assess performance on quality, price, lead time, and service.
Analyze market trends and implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising on purity standards or compliance.
Coordinate with production,QA/QC, R&D, and warehouse teams for real-time demand planning and inventory control.
Track market trends, price fluctuations, and lead-time changes for key raw materials.
Ensure procurement compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to forecast demand and plan purchases.
Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier information.
Use ERP systems to streamline procurement processes and maintain full traceability.
Implement and maintain procurement KPIs to evaluate operational efficiency and its performance. viz:- [On-time Delivery from Suppliers, Procurement Cost Savings (YoY), Vendor Lead Time Compliance, Purchase Order Accuracy, Supplier Defect Rate / Quality Rejections, Number of Approved Strategic Vendors, Stockout Incidents due to Procurement Delays, Contract Compliance Rate, Cycle Time for Procurement Process].
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Supply Chain, or Business Administration; Postgraduate or certifications (CIPS, CPM) preferred.
10+ years of experience in procurement or purchasing, ideally in chemical, pharmaceutical, or scientific product industries.
Strong knowledge of chemical and lab-grade material sourcing, vendor evaluation, and global compliance requirements.
Excellent negotiation skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple suppliers and timelines.
Proficiency with procurement software and ERP systems.
Knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques and a dexterity in reading the market
