Role Description The Purchasing Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Odisha, India. This position is responsible for managing end-to-end procurement activities, including identifying suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring timely sourcing of materials and services across the Group's business units. The role involves monitoring inventory levels, optimizing procurement costs, and maintaining compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements. The Purchasing Manager collaborates closely with operations, finance, and production teams to forecast requirements, resolve supply issues, and support strategic sourcing initiatives. Daily tasks include supplier performance review, purchase order management, data analysis for cost optimization, and continuous improvement of procurement processes.
Qualifications

  • Strong procurement and purchasing skills, including vendor management, contract negotiation, and supplier relationship building.
  • Experience in inventory planning, materials management, and cost optimization in manufacturing or multi-sector environments.
  • Proficiency in using ERP or procurement software, MS Excel, and data analysis tools to track purchases and support decision-making.
  • Knowledge of supply chain management principles, commercial terms, and basic legal aspects of contracts.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and collaboration skills for working with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work with attention to detail, prioritize multiple requirements, and meet deadlines in a dynamic setting.
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field; relevant professional certifications are an advantage.
  • Experience in mining, steel, power, or related industries in India is beneficial, along with familiarity with local suppliers and regulations.
