We are looking for a highly experienced and dynamic Purchase Manager Mechanical to lead our procurement and supply chain operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical and commercial acumen, hands-on experience in vendor development, and a deep understanding of component manufacturing processes. This role will be responsible for developing procurement strategies, managing supplier networks, and ensuring timely and cost-effective sourcing of materials in alignment with business goals.
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
- Procurement Strategy: Develop and implement procurement strategies across all business lines to drive efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Vendor & Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and manage cost-effective and reliable vendors to improve quality and reduce procurement costs.
- Supply Chain Compliance: Continuously update supply chain practices in line with environmental policies, industry standards, and legal regulations.
- Cross-functional Coordination: Collaborate with R&D, engineering, marketing, production, and stores teams to ensure seamless procurement processes.
- Forecast Monitoring: Analyze forecasts and quotas to anticipate changes and assess their impact on procurement activities.
- Supplier Network Expansion: Maintain and enhance a robust and diversified supplier base.
- New Part & Vendor Development: Develop new parts and identify potential vendors to support organizational requirements.
- Vendor Evaluation: Conduct assessments of vendor manufacturing capabilities through on-site evaluations and audits.
- Supplier Performance Monitoring: Regularly track supplier performance to ensure adherence to quality and delivery benchmarks.
- Claims Management: Address vendor claims related to defective, short, or missing materials.
Desired Candidate Skills:
- Strong ability to read and interpret engineering and technical drawings.
- Hands-on experience with component manufacturing processes.
- Proficient in cost analysis and pricing strategy.
- Proven track record in vendor identification and development.
- Excellent techno-commercial skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, ERP systems, and other procurement-related software.
Educational Qualification:
- B.Tech/B.E. in Mechanical Engineering (Mandatory)
