Role Overview
As a Purchase Manager, you will lead the end-to-end procurement function, ensuring cost efficiency, uninterrupted supply, and a scalable, data-driven purchasing ecosystem to support business growth.
Key Responsibilities
Cost Optimization & Savings
- Achieve 2% material cost reduction in Year 1 through renegotiation and alternate sourcing
- Benchmark supplier pricing and identify cost-saving opportunities quarterly
- Optimize freight costs via better carrier management, shipment consolidation, and incoterms
International & Domestic Vendor Development
- Manage import procurement across China, South Korea, Taiwan, and Europe
- Develop alternate international and domestic vendors to improve cost, quality, and reliability
- Qualify vendors based on pricing, quality, lead time, and performance metrics
Inventory Management
- Maintain optimal inventory levels with zero stock-outs and minimal dead stock
- Implement ABC/XYZ inventory classification and reorder norms
- Align procurement planning with sales forecasts and production schedules
Process & Systems
- Design and manage end-to-end procurement processes: RFQs, POs, GRNs, vendor evaluation, and payment terms
- Build MIS dashboards and weekly reporting frameworks for leadership review
- Introduce ERP discipline and digital tools for procurement tracking
Success Metrics (Year 1)
- Material Cost Reduction: 2%
- Inventory Optimization: Zero stock-outs, <10% dead stock
- Vendor Expansion: 3–5 new qualified vendors (domestic & international)
- MIS Reporting: Weekly dashboards live within 60 days
- Import Efficiency: 10–15% lead time reduction
Candidate Profile
- 8–10 years of experience in purchase / procurement, preferably in home furnishings, textiles, interior products, consumer goods, or manufacturing
- Strong exposure to import procurement, including LCs and EXIM documentation
- Proven ability in vendor negotiation, cost optimization, and inventory planning
- Process-oriented with strong MIS and ERP exposure
