Job Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and drive effective purchasing and sourcing strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Lead procurement of Raw Materials and Packaging Materials used in Personal Care, Skin Care, Hair Care, Baby Care, Home Hygiene Care, Aerosol Products, or allied industries.
- Manage end-to-end procurement operations including sourcing, negotiations, contracting, ordering, and supplier performance management.
- Identify, evaluate, onboard, and develop reliable vendors and suppliers; maintain and expand the approved vendor base.
- Lead commercial negotiations with suppliers on pricing, payment terms, lead times, and long-term contracts.
- Monitor and evaluate supplier performance on quality, delivery timelines, compliance, and cost efficiency.
- Ensure availability and accuracy of quality and regulatory documents such as COA, MSDS, specifications, and compliance certificates for all materials and batches procured.
- Coordinate closely with Production, Quality, R&D, Planning, and Finance teams to ensure uninterrupted supply and optimized inventory levels.
- Oversee scheduling of deliveries and ensure timely fulfillment of material requirements.
- Proactively identify and resolve procurement-related risks, shortages, quality issues, or supplier non-compliances.
- Track procurement KPIs and generate reports on spend analysis, cost savings, supplier performance, and market trends.
- Forecast demand, price movements, and raw material market trends to support budgeting and sourcing decisions.
- Drive cost-reduction initiatives without compromising quality or compliance standards.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, import-export policies, and new sourcing opportunities in domestic and international markets.
- Manage import and export procurement activities, including compliance with applicable policies, documentation, and coordination with clearing agents.
- Lead, mentor, and guide the procurement team to improve efficiency and accountability.
- Represent procurement in management reviews and present insights on market analysis and sourcing strategies.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's degree (mandatory); MBA in Supply Chain Management or Operations preferred.
- Minimum 7+ years of experience in purchase/procurement roles, with at least a few years in a managerial or lead capacity.
- Mandatory industry experience in one or more of the following:
- Personal Care, Skin Care, Hair Care, Baby Care, Home Hygiene Care, Aerosol Products, Pharmaceuticals, or Brewery.
- Strong understanding of raw material and packaging procurement in regulated and quality-driven environments.
- Proven experience in vendor development, contract negotiation, and cost optimization.
- Hands-on exposure to import-export procedures, documentation, and compliance.
- Experience working with ERP/procurement systems and advanced Excel or reporting tools.
- Strong analytical, planning, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with high ownership.
