Relevant purchase/ supply chain experience: 8 to 10 years
Current role: Assistant Manager/ Deputy Manager/ Early stage Manager
Team handling: 3 to 10 people
Goals (0 to 12 month)
- Build a cost-optimized, reliable procurement engine for electronics/ EMS components
- Achieve 5 to 10% cost savings through negotiation, alternate sourcing, and value engineering [to match 26FY27 budget]
- Ensure material availability aligned with production plans
- Develop a robust & diversified vendor base (domestic & import)
- Establish scalable procurement processes for growth to 10b ₹
Milestones
- 0 to 30 days: Audit current vendors, pricing, contracts, and sourcing gaps
- 30 to 60 days: Renegotiate key items, identify alternate vendors for cost and risk reduction
- 60 to 90 days: Implement RFQ process, vendor evaluation matrix, and basic SOPs
- 90 to 180 days: Stabilize supply, reduce emergency buys & improve planning coordination
- 6 to12 months: Build strategic sourcing pipeline & long term vendor partnerships
Measurement of success (KPIs)
- Cost savings achieved [% reduction vs previous FY & 26/ 27 FY budget]
- On time material availability/ line stoppage incidents
- Purchase price variance (PPV)
- Vendor performance (cost, quality & delivery)
- Inventory turns/ reduction in excess & dead stock [to match 26FY27 budget]
- % of planned vs emergency procurement
What candidate should bring to the table
- Strong vendor network (EMS/ electronics/ electrical & automation ecosystem)
- Proven negotiation and cost down track record
- Experience in import sourcing & supply risk management
- Ability to build RFQ systems, SOPs, and controls
- Data-driven mindset (Excel/ ERP) with sharp commercial judgment
- Ownership, speed, and ability to operate in a build-from-scratch environment
