Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Procurement & Vendor Management

  • Identify, search, and evaluate international vendors (especially Chinese suppliers).
  • Conduct comparative analysis of suppliers based on pricing, quality, lead time, and reliability.
  • Negotiate prices, payment terms, shipment terms, and contracts to achieve cost-effective procurement.
  • Manage vendor communication, maintain strong supplier relationships, and resolve supply issues efficiently.

Market Research & Pricing Analysis

  • Analyze competitor pricing, market trends, and new product opportunities to make informed purchasing decisions.
  • Continuously monitor market fluctuations to secure cost advantages and maintain competitive pricing.
  • Evaluate alternative materials or vendors to reduce costs while maintaining quality standards.

Key Skills Required

Technical & Domain Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of procurement processes, supply chain workflows, and material sourcing.
  • Knowledge of international trade, customs regulations, and import-export documentation.
  • Expertise in assessing vendor capability and negotiating effectively.

Analytical & Planning Skills

  • Ability to analyze sales data, identify high/normal/seasonal product trends, and plan procurement accordingly.
  • Proficiency in stock management and forecasting techniques.

Communication & Negotiation

  • Excellent negotiation skills to secure competitive pricing and favorable terms.
  • Strong vendor communication abilities and relationship management.

Market Awareness

  • Knowledge of international markets, especially Chinese vendor ecosystems.
  • Ability to conduct competitor analysis and market research.

Quality & Problem-Solving

  • Strong attention to detail for quality checks, especially in furniture-related items.
  • Ability to handle damage claims, shortages, and disputes with vendors effectively.

Operational Skills

  • Experience in purchase order handling, shipment coordination, and inventory tracking.
  • Proficiency in documentation, record-keeping, and MS Excel/ERP tools.
