Role Overview
The Public Cloud Solution Architect will lead end-to-end solution architecture for cloud transformation initiatives, guiding customers through datacentre modernization, cloud adoption, migration planning, and cost-optimized architecture design. The role requires deep technical expertise across public cloud platforms and strong experience in designing scalable, secure, and cost-efficient cloud solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Solutioning & Presales Support
- Collaborate with sales and bid teams to build winning cloud solutions and proposals.
- Provide solution justification, architecture diagrams, BoMs, and cloud pricing models.
- Evaluate customer requirements and map them to optimal cloud services and deployment patterns.
Cloud Architecture & Design
- Design and deliver scalable, secure, and highly available cloud architectures on AWS, Azure, GCP, or Oracle Cloud.
- Lead cloud modernization assessments, architectural blueprints, and roadmap creation for enterprise customers.
- Develop reference architectures and reusable solution patterns aligned with industry best practices.
Datacentre & Migration Strategy
- Assess existing on-premises workloads and define detailed migration strategies (re-host, re-platform, re-architect).
- Lead complex datacentre transformation programs, ensuring seamless transition to cloud.
- Define migration waves, effort estimation, TCO calculations, and sprint-based execution plans.
Cost Optimization & Governance
- Develop cost-optimized architectures leveraging reserved instances, autoscaling, serverless, and FinOps principles.
- Recommend governance frameworks, security controls, compliance guidelines, and operational best practices.
Required Skills & Competencies
Technical Skills
- Strong expertise in at least one hyperscaler: AWS / Azure / GCP / Oracle Cloud.
- Deep understanding of cloud networking, security, IAM, containerization (Kubernetes, AKS/EKS/GKE), DevOps pipelines, and automation.
- Hands-on experience with migration tools (CloudEndure, Azure Migrate, Velostrata, etc.) and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform/ARM/CloudFormation).
- Experience in designing DR/BCP, multi-cloud or hybrid architectures (VMware, Hyper-V, OCVS, etc.).
