Project Manager in Singapore isresponsible for leading complex IT and solutions-based projects from inception to completion. The position involves managing the entire project life cycle, leading cross-functional teams, and acting as the primary liaison between customers and various internal and external stakeholders.
Core Responsibilities:
Project leadership and management: Lead projects throughout their entire life cycle, from definition of scope and requirements gathering to deployment and closure.
Team management: Lead and manage a project team, which may include business analysts and developers, coordinating activities throughout the development life cycle.
Stakeholder management: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and internal departments, managing expectations and maintaining strong working relationships.
Budget and resource oversight: Take full accountability for managing the project budget, timeline, and resource allocation to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
Risk management: Identify potential project risks and develop appropriate mitigation and escalation plans to keep the project on track.
Communication: Ensure frequent and transparent communication with all stakeholders, including clients, vendors, and internal teams.
Reporting: Track project performance and provide timely updates on progress, issues, and risks to management.
Required skills and qualifications:
Professional experience: Typically requires 23+ years of professional experience as a Project Manager, with a preference for experience managing international, customer-facing interactions.
Technical background: Strong technical understanding is often required, particularly for IT application or software development projects.
Project management expertise: Knowledge of various project management methodologies and tools is necessary.
Interpersonal and communication skills: Must have exceptional written and verbal communication skills to effectively liaise with diverse stakeholders.
Organizational skills: Demonstrated strength in time management, organization, and driving results within a matrix-structured organization.
Certifications: A PMP or similar certification is a plus.
Analytical and problem-solving abilities: Strong analytical skills are essential for identifying risks and resolving issues that arise during a project.
Industry knowledge: Experience in or a strong understanding of relevant industries, such as financial messaging and banking, is desired for certain roles.
