POSITION SUMMARY
The Senior Program Manager will be responsible for handling multiple projects simultaneously, overseeing the end-to-end project lifecycle, ensuring the delivery of projects on time, within scope, and budget, while aligning with strategic business goals and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Delivery:
- Lead complex, cross-functional projects in the banking sector, including digital transformation, core banking upgrades, compliance initiatives, or operational efficiency improvements.
- Define project scope, objectives, timelines, budgets, and deliverables in alignment with business goals.
- Manage all phases of the project lifecycle: initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Act as a key point of contact for executive sponsors, business heads, technical teams, vendors, and regulators.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders to ensure clear communication, alignment of expectations, and stakeholder satisfaction.
Risk and Compliance Management:
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues, with a strong understanding of banking regulations
- Ensure project compliance with internal audit and regulatory requirements.
Team & Resource Management:
- Lead cross-functional project teams, including business analysts, developers, testers, and third-party vendors.
- Manage resource allocation, performance tracking, and team development.
Project Governance & Reporting:
- Provide regular updates to steering committees and senior executives.
- Maintain documentation including project charters, project plans, RTM etc.
Change Management:
- Define change management approach, timeline and deliverables aligned with the overall project plan
- Collaborate with project teams to integrate change activities into project plans
Vendor Management:
- Ensure contract terms are adhered to throughout the project lifecycle
- Track vendor related cost against project budget
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science or related field, MCA or equivalent
- Certifications (preferred):
- PMP (Project Management Professional)
- PRINCE2 Practitioner
Requirement :
- Minimum 10–12 years of project management experience, with at least 5 years in the banking or financial services industry.
- Proven track record of delivering multiple projects worth more than one crore with complex stakeholder environments.
- Strong proficiency with project management software (e.g., MS Project, JIRA, Trello, Asana)
- Application of appropriate project management methodologies such as Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid, depending on the project context.
Experience in areas such as:
a) Digital banking / online & mobile banking
b) Core banking systems (e.g. Finacle)
