Amazon Projects team need to have in-depth understanding of Project life cycle including span allocation for all the four pillars (assessment, design and detailing, Execution and Performance qualification) of any project. Some of the key aspects of the role are Site Selection along with the RE team, Project statutory and Legal compliances adherence, Project Safety both in terms of design and execution, value management for large and medium scale projects, executing various formats of technical projects-green field, brown field and Improvement projects.
Key job responsibilities
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Planning & Execution: . Lead planning and execution of all building formats for North India region . Manage setting up of new Centers across different business formats . Oversee capacity expansion of existing facilities . Coordinate facility relocations as per business requirements . Drive 1-2 project management initiatives (Standardization, Energy Conservation programs, Productivity Improvement measures) . Manage project financial processes
Site Assessment & Planning: . Support Real Estate Team in site visits and due diligence through site inspections . Conduct feasibility assessments for setting up facilities for given business formats . Finalize conceptual layouts and assess layout parameters from operations perspective . Prepare Developer's Scope of Work as per standards and specifications . Prepare Amazon scope of work and cost estimates . Prepare and submit Build out Capex requests for approval
Project Management: . Finalize Project Management Consultants (PMC) . Conduct project resource planning and management through appointed PMC or hired resources . Work with Procurement team to evaluate and finalize vendors . Review material requirements with all stakeholders for facility setup and launch . Track material receipt and implementation
Execution & Quality Control: . Monitor progress and manage execution of onsite activities for Amazon scope of work . Track and ensure quality of work by the Developer . Ensure snag-free handover to Facilities Team . Work with Launch team in preparation of site launch closer to completion . Ensure budget adherence and safe execution at site with no budget overruns . Target Zero LTI (Lost Time Injuries) . Prepare weekly progress reviews and reports with status updates . Ensure timely project closure including commercials
Compliance & Safety: . Ensure adherence to Safety and Statutory compliance in all projects . Maintain highest standards and good engineering practices . Implement safe execution protocols across all project sites

Project Execution and OTIF Delivery: 95% . Facilitate timely launch of facilities . Meet project deadlines consistently
Budget Adherence: 95% . No cost overruns for all projects undertaken . Maintain financial discipline
Safety Performance: Zero LTIs . Ensure safe execution across all projects . Implement and monitor safety protocols
Compliance: 95% . Adherence to Safety and Statutory compliance . Meet regulatory requirements
Initiative Completion: 100% . Complete and rollout specific project management initiatives on time in full.
COMPETENCIES REQUIRED
Technical Skills: . Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems in industrial construction . Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools . Knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and statutory compliance . Budget management and financial acumen . Vendor management and procurement processes
Leadership & Management: . Ability to lead cross-functional teams . Strong stakeholder management skills . Resource planning and allocation . Risk management and mitigation
Communication: . Excellent written and verbal communication skills . Ability to prepare and present progress reports to senior leadership . Coordination with multiple teams (RE, Procurement, Launch, Facilities)
Important Note: The role includes 40% travel for project assignments, which is crucial for candidates to understand upfront.
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience in engineering including a supervisory role managing people
- Experience in a fast-paced, automated, industrial, logistics, production or manufacturing environment
- Experience in project management
- Experience in preventative maintenance systems
- Experience of automated equipment including packaging machinery, sortation and conveyor systems
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, management, or technology
