Role & Responsibilities

As a Project Leader III, you will lead the design, development, and qualification of laboratory products manufactured across global sites, while driving cost optimization and design standardization initiatives.

  • Lead cross-functional teams to deliver complex, high-impact projects in a program management capacity
  • Drive the design and qualification of globally manufactured products, ensuring compliance with engineering and quality standards
  • Execute and lead Value Analysis / Value Engineering (VAVE) initiatives to identify and implement cost reduction opportunities without compromising quality or performance
  • Conduct product cost analysis, teardown benchmarking, and competitive assessments to drive informed decision-making
  • Deliver measurable business impact, including $1M annual cost savings
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and at or below target cost through robust engineering planning (quality, cost, schedule, and risk)
  • Provide regular updates on project progress, risks, and mitigation plans to stakeholders
  • Apply structured problem-solving methodologies to analyze issues and drive effective resolutions
  • Collaborate effectively with sourcing, operations, quality, service, and global R&D teams, as well as external suppliers and partners
  • Support the development of team capability by mentoring team members and building technical depth across product lines
  • Promote a culture of continuous learning by coordinating technical training, addressing skill gaps, and strengthening the technical talent pipeline
  • Perform cost-benefit analyses and validate annualized savings for projects

Skills & Proficiencies

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
  • 10+ years of relevant experience, with a strong track record in product design, qualification, and VAVE/cost optimization initiatives
  • Proven experience in leading end-to-end VAVE projects (from scoping through implementation)
  • Strong expertise in product cost analysis, teardown, competitive benchmarking, and engineering optimization techniques
  • Experience managing complex, cross-functional projects or programs
  • Good understanding of global engineering standards, regulatory requirements, and product qualification processes
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and drive alignment
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities with experience mentoring and developing team members

Preferred Qualifications

  • VAVE and/or PMP certification
  • Experience with PLM systems (e.g., Teamcenter) and CAD tools such as UG/NX, along with working knowledge of simulation tools like Ansys
