About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Project Manager with a strong civil engineering background to join our interior-based construction company in Chennai. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing high-end interior projects from conception to handover. You must possess a deep understanding of site execution, technical documentation, safety protocols, and client handling. Architectural knowledge will be considered a significant advantage.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Planning & Execution: Manage end-to-end project lifecycle for interior fit-out projects, ensuring timely delivery within budget and quality standards.
- Documentation: Prepare and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including contracts, progress reports, inspection requests, and variation orders.
- Technical Data Management: Review and interpret technical drawings, BOQs, and material specifications to ensure site execution aligns with design intent.
- Safety Compliance: Enforce strict adherence to site safety protocols and quality standards. Conduct regular safety audits and toolbox talks.
- Warranty & Handover: Manage the project handover process, including snagging/completion lists, obtaining sign-offs, and managing warranty periods with clients and subcontractors.
- Site Management: Conduct daily site visits to monitor progress, coordinate with subcontractors, resolve site issues, and ensure quality of workmanship.
- Coordination: Liaise with architects, designers, consultants, and clients to ensure smooth workflow and clear communication.
- Travel: Willingness to travel to various project sites within and around Chennai as required.
Key Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum 8 years of experience in project management within the construction/interior fit-out industry.
- Background: Must be from a Civil Engineering background.
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of site execution, technical data, safety regulations, and project management software.
- Soft Skills: Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Added Advantage: Candidates with architectural knowledge or experience working closely with design teams will be preferred.
