The Opportunity

Project Lead Engineer HVDC will be technical lead for all Engineering disciplines, focusing on Electrical, Electromechanical & Civil design for HVDC projects. You will support the project team in technical coordination with Plants team.

How You'll Make An Impact

  • You will evaluate, select, and apply standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform tasks or sequences of tasks for conventional projects with few complex features. Execute assignments using established solutions.
  • Will lead the technical coordination with Plants departments, Electromechanical design (comprehensive HVDC station design, including placement of equipment in CAD layouts), Station auxiliary power (including cables between HVDC equipment, auxiliary transformers, diesel generators, batteries), Civil design and Auxiliary systems (including fire system, climate system and security systems) and its interfaces.
  • You will ensure project timelines are met with highest quality. Utilize standard processes, tools, and techniques. Ensure that engineering activities comply with all required safety regulations and contractual requirements.
  • You will evaluate risks and opportunities and strategize mitigation of one's engineering projects/programs. Supports the Project Engineering Manager in overall project risk and opportunity assessments as well as the implementation of resulting actions. Identify opportunities for both repeat and new business.
  • You will interact with customers, contractors and suppliers. Attend project meetings and present all technical aspects of project assignments.
  • You will collaborate on project installation, commissioning, and site activities, clarifying potential issues or providing solutions to correct engineering errors. Provide technical support to commissioning and start-up activities.
  • You will collaborate and network with engineering colleagues within Hitachi Energy, share best practice across various projects and disciplines.
  • You will provide feasible and cost-effective solutions for tenders. Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes in the electrification sector, leveraging this knowledge to drive continuous improvement.
  • You will be responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your Background

  • You hold a degree in B.E/ BTech in Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
  • Minimum 12 to 15 years in Primary / Secondary design for substations.
  • Must have knowledge in design of Auxiliary power equipment, Microsoft office tools and CAD tools.
  • Experience in technical tender support or bidding is preferable.
  • Self-starter of high caliber who can take ownership of tasks and see them through to completion.
  • Excellent Leadership, Analytical, communication and collaboration skills including multidisciplinary coordination.
