Job Description

The Project Engineer (Civil) plays a key role in planning, coordinating, and executing construction activities at project sites. The role ensures that all works comply with technical specifications, quality standards, and project timelines. The Project Engineer supports the Project Manager with day-to-day operations, vendor coordination, technical documentation, and site supervision.

Key Responsibilities

1. Project Execution & Site Supervision

  • Oversee daily site activities and ensure work execution as per drawings and specifications.
  • Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and site labor to ensure smooth workflow.
  • Monitor progress to ensure adherence to project schedules and milestones.

2. Technical Review & Documentation

  • Review construction drawings, BOQs, method statements, and technical specifications.
  • Prepare and maintain DPRs (Daily Progress Reports), MIRs, and site documentation.
  • Assist in preparing work orders, RFI submissions, and compliance reports.

3. Quality & Safety Compliance

  • Ensure quality control and compliance with project standards and industry codes.
  • Conduct inspections and tests as per approved quality plans.
  • Monitor safety practices and ensure adherence to site safety protocols.

4. Material & Resource Management

  • Track material consumption and coordinate with procurement for timely supply.
  • Verify material quality upon receipt against specifications.
  • Maintain updated material stock records at site.

5. Coordination & Stakeholder Management

  • Work closely with architects, consultants, and clients to resolve technical issues.
  • Support project manager in planning, scheduling, and risk mitigation.
  • Facilitate smooth communication among all project stakeholders.

Skills & Competencies

Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles, construction methods, and site execution.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Project/Primavera (optional), and MS Office.
  • Understanding of quality standards (IS codes) and safety practices.

Soft Skills

  • Excellent communication and coordination skills.
  • Strong problemsolving ability and attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask and work under deadlines.

Qualifications

  • Graduation in Civil Engineering.
  • 6 to 8 years of experience in Civil Construction Industry.
