A construction project engineer plays a crucial role in the successful completion of construction projects. They are responsible for overseeing and coordinating various aspects of a construction project, ensuring that it is completed safely, on time, and within budget. Project Planning and Coordination:

  • Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to understand project requirements, objectives, and scope.
  • Assist in developing project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Review project documents, specifications, and drawings to identify potential issues or conflicts.

Construction Management:

  • Monitor and manage construction activities to ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct regular site visits to inspect work progress, identify any deviations from plans, and resolve construction-related issues.

  • Monitor project expenditures and track costs against the budget, identifying any deviations and implementing corrective measures.
  • Collaborate with procurement teams to source and evaluate vendors, negotiate contracts, and ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.
  • Review and approve payment requests from contractors and subcontractors, verifying work completion and compliance with contractual terms.

Team Collaboration and Communication:

  • Foster effective communication and collaboration among project team members, including architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Facilitate regular project meetings to discuss progress, resolve issues, and ensure alignment on project objectives.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior engineers and construction staff, promoting a culture of continuous learning and development.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in construction project management or engineering roles.
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, building codes, and regulations.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools. Such as AutoCAD, Bluebeam, MS Project, Sketchup 3D etc.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Attention to detail and a focus on quality and safety.
  • Experience working on Residential/ Commercial Interior Projects is a plus.
